Description: The Student Council is composed of students elected by their peers each spring. Each grade (9-11) has three officers; the seniors have two additional members. The student body also elects seniors as president and vice-president of the council. The council members serve as the ears and voice of their peers. Meeting monthly, council responsibilities include the planning and labor force for multiple events including "Alpha" (the first day of school), the Sadie Hawkins Dance, Hot Dog Bowl, and Homecoming week activities and dance. The council also prayerfully determines the Axis themes for the year including Spiritual Emphasis in the spring. During March, the seniors of the council serve as the nominating committee for the future council of each upcoming year and interview each candidate applying for nomination. This group of students model servant leadership throughout the school year. Council members are also charged with communicating information to their peers in monthly class meetings.
