As a parent of a Providence Christian Academy student, you are critical to the
life and community of our parent-sponsored school. As an extension of the
Christian home, Providence’s philosophy of education is based on biblical
principles like those found in Ephesians 6:4, which states that parents are to
bring up their children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, and in
Deuteronomy 11:18-20, in which we are instructed to fix God’s words on our
hearts and to teach them to our children.
According to the Scripture,
the primary responsibility for education rests on the parents to whom children
are entrusted by God. Parents accepting this covenantal responsibility to
provide a distinctively Christian education for their children often seek to
enlist other Christians to assist in this process. Therefore, Providence exists
as an extension of the family to assist parents in the discipleship of their
children to know Jesus Christ as Savior, and to think and act from a biblical
worldview.
For further information concerning Christian education, we
recommend a book by Dr. Glen Schultz, Kingdom Education. |
